Seminar Overview:
The Unified Computing System (UCS) from Cisco was announced over one year ago. During the first year after its entry to the market, Cisco UCS has seen a rapidly growing install base. The core of the UCS solution is centered around high-speed 10Gbps data center switching that is connected via a low-latency unified fabric (FCoE). With extended memory configurations up to 384GB per blade, high-densities of virtualized servers are possible with the Cisco UCS solution.
As a VMware partner, Sovran has been deploying virtualized data center solutions for many years. Along with our existing expertise with virtualization and business continuity planning, the UCS solutions from Cisco are a natural fit.
In this seminar we will cover:
- The Unified Computing System (UCS) Architecture
- UCS benefits for virtualization and business continuity
o Service profiles / service profile templates
o Resource pools and the unified fabric
o Virtualization density with extended memory configurations
o 1000v virtual switches
o UCS Manager centralized management
The intended audience is:
- Anyone looking at virtualization and server consolidation technologies
- Existing data center managers looking to compare their infrastructure to
Cisco’s offering
- Existing Cisco customers looking at extending their existing infrastructure into
the data center
